First — if you have an iPod, install iTunes, use the icon below to subscribe, and boom, you’re done. If you don’t have an iPod, continue on and hopefully you’ll find an option that works for you.

Subscriptions (which are free for Indie Music Sampler) allow you to be notified when new shows are released. There are a couple of ways this can happen. (1) Via email. (2) Placing a notification on your home page. (3) Have a program on your computer that looks for new shows and downloads them when available. All three options are available for Indie Music Sampler.

(1) Email
The easy way to subscribe is by email. Each time a new show comes out, it’s sent to you via email. Your email address is NEVER used for anything else EVER!!! When you are ready to unsubscribe, click the a link in the last email you got, and boom, it’s done without human intervention.

(2) Home Page
If you use one of the services below as a home page (My Yahoo! for example) you can have Indie Music Sampler show up on your page with a listing of the latest shows. When you want to hear one, just click on it.

(3) Automatic Downloads
You can use a program called a podcatcher to do the automatic downloading for you. After installing one of these programs, click on the first icon below to start your subscription. Popular podcatchers include: Podnova, Juice, Fireant, Dopler, Nimiq and Winpodder.

However, my hands-down favorite is Podcast Ready. There are three things that separate this program from all the others:
(1) There is a version for your computer, Windows 2000 to Windows 7, Macintosh and Linux.
(2) The program is installed on (and runs from) your MP3 player (provided the player shows up as a drive letter in Windows or is mountable in Linux). Take it to any computer with an Internet connection to load it up.
(3) You subscribe to programs on the web. You can be at work looking for podcasts on your break, and subscribe online. Your MP3 player will pick up the new podcast the next time you load it up at home.
